Question Help

Hello,

I need some help with a Windows XP problem if anyone can assist.

My specs are:

Windows XP Home Edition (Service Pack 1)
Dell Dimension Desktop 8300
Pentium 4 2.6 Ghz
512 MB Ram
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Graphics Card
Norton Antivirus Software

I recently installed some new software on my PC included a video game and updated drivers for my Graphics card. Once the drivers were installed I was prompted to restart my PC for the settings to take affect (which usually happens). However, upon restarting my PC Windows does not seem to boot up, wither in normal, safe mode, or when I choose restore previous settings. The following error message is being displayed "Issuss.exe / Services.exe - Entry Point Not Found - The procedure entrypoint_resetstkoflw could not be located in the dynamic link library msvcrt.dll" When I click 'OK' to this message I am left with a blank screen. Mouse/Keyboard is still responsive however system fails to finish booting up. I have ran Utility checks through the boot menu and have returned no errors. I hav also previously updated my graphics card with no problems.

Help on this issue would be much appreciated.

it seem like your system is in bad shape ,, did you want to try to replace your "msvcrt.dll" file with another version ? I would suspect that the game you have installed replace your "msvcrt.dll
" with an older version wgich was compiled in Visol Studio 5 or lower and that's why your system has crashed, used this link to download "msvcrt.dll" ( Place the file in %systemroot%system32, Also the latest version of "msvcrt.dll" is 7.0.2600.1106.

cheers

Thanks,

Unfortunatley I do not currently have internet access on my problem PC and I would not be ablt to place the downloaded file in the relevant folder since I can't seem to boot up in the first place. Is there any other way of rectifying this problem?

try going to another Internet Cafe or go to a friends house that has a floppy drive.
