Windows Media Player 9 Problem

Windows Media Player 9 will not copy media to CD-R. When I hit the Copy button it says, Interface not registerd. Now what the heck does that mean? I already tried,
************************************************** **
Disable licensing on Media Player

Go into the Media Player. Once on the main screen double click on tools then click on options then click the copy music tab. on the copy settings menu remove the check mark for protected contents.

This disables licensing so that you media player won't read the "one or more of your licenses are corrupted or missing" error, this error will make it so media player will not copy music or burn music to a cd. (if this has happened to you, you must restore your windows settings through your rescue cd to restore the media player).

************************************************** **

Am I going to have to go to the extreme of using the rescue CD, which I assume is the Windows XP software disk that came with the computer?

Slide Rules were much easier to use........................

i hate media player 9, it is total garbage, causes all sorts of problems. the only system i have it on is at work the server is running server 2k3 and it came with it. i dont use any media on it so it has not been a problem. i noticed plus media edition and sp2 beta install it and require it, so if you use those you are stuck. i have a test machine i am running sp2 beta and so far it has been much better with the service pack. you might want to consider sp2 because removing wmp9 really isnt a option without formatting and starting over. i am not saying this will fix you up, just saying it is worth a shot. i am not able to get a link at the moment, but some link happy individual usually is more then eager to post it if you need it.
