Unhappy Windows XP - GeForce FX 5200... HELP!

Ok... So... I had recently got a butt load of viruses on my cpu and some it destroyed my OS... So I reinstalled Windows XP Pro and to my suprise, my graphics card no longer was being read... So, I installed service pack one and the nVidia drivers... Nothing... So Cleaned out my registry, deleated what I had just installed (nVidia drivers), and re-installed the drivers again... Nothing... Now i am getting rather irritated... So I went into device manager, and there is no display drivers as a selectable option...

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! I am running out of ideas and I wanna get my darn graphics card working!!

Hmm, sorry this is the only think I can think of:
1) Take out the graphics card, reboot and then reboot again with graphics card installed (If your monitor out goes through the graphics card this option is out)

2) Control Panel --> Add New Device look for your graphics card in there and go on from there.

Kinda dumb question AzN_Tweaker, notice the 'So I went into device manager, and there is no display drivers as a selectable option...' paragraph? It doesn't show up in device manager with an error or at all, did you read the post properly?

does your motherboard have on-board video as well? if so have you been into the bios and checked the settings? make sure the agp is set as the initial video adapter. if you had some of the viruses i have delt with lately you may need to full erase/secure erase/zero write your hard drive and rest the partitions format and install. if you have a bootsector virus this could explain some of your problem too.

Question PCI or AGP

Is your card an AGP or PCI card? If it's an PCI card, then your PCI slot could be bad, try changing slots to see if that corrects the issue. If it's an AGP card then I would also check the on-board video settings also.
