Internet accesss problem
I recently acquired a new Dell computer which came with XP Home as the O/S. When I set it up and connected it to my broadband cable via a 4-port router, everything worked fine. I was able to access the internet without trouble.
This morning (03/17/2004 - Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!) I attempted to go online, but was advised that there was no internet connection. Same for the e-mail (Outlook Express). Mind you, this had worked flawlessly the evening prior, and NO CHANGES TO THE SETTINGS had been made.
I disconnected the computer from the router and hooked it directly to the cable modem: internet access with no problem. Thinking that maybe the router port had gone bad, I switched to a connection that I knew worked... No internet access. I connected another computer to the same router port, and was able to connect without problem. None of the other computers connected to the router are having problems. Help.
