Organize my list

When I click start-All programs....I have four columns full of various programs. How do I create a folder, for example "Utilities" and then how do I move those programs to that folder to better organize my "All Files" list? I used to be able to do this in Windows 98 easily. Windows XP has me lost with this ability.

Thank You

Try
start-right click all programs-open all users-programs- right click on a blank area- new folder- then call it what ever u want.

The folder you are looking for is located in:
C/Documents and Settings/All Users/Start Menu/Programs. And the folder tasks are in the left pane.
Hope that's what you wanted.

Being better organized is good, but if you just want more room for all of your programs, you can increase the number of columns by reducing the width of each column. The column width is dictated by the length of the longest line in the column. When you shorten the line you will make the column narrower. Just right-click the longest line in a column and select "rename". (for example) Change "Microsoft Windows Media Player" to "Media Player 9" or "WMP9"; or, change "Norton Internet Security" to "NIS"; or Microsoft Word for Windows" to "Word". You can have more columns and be able to fit alot more programs into your list this way.
