Complete Crash!

My computer keeps completly hanging every so often when i'm using Word 2003...

The whole thing freezes, I cant move the mouse or anything and if music is playing, it keeps playing the last note over and over infinately, making a "drrrrrrrrrrrrr" noise...

Whats that all about? Anyone know what may help? Ive tried reinstalling word/office etc.

Does this only occur when using word? if so then you may want to try looking to see if there are any patches available from micro$oft.

Other things to try:

Take a look at task manager & see what process (if any) is hanging?
Also look in event viewer (in admin tools) to see if there have been any reported errors that may help diagnose this problem.

Its always when using word. There are no applicable patches.

I cant look up task manager when it happens cos its the prcessor locks and i cannot do a thing with it, the only thing i can do is hold the power button till the system powers off, then restart.

I cant really find anything in event viewer.
