XP crashes with editing program

I am using XP Pro with Adobe Pro editing program. When using the device control on a JVC camcorder it crashes. I researched the XP Application Events Viewer and saw the following.

Application error event 1000. Went to properities window and saw the following:
Faulting application adobe premiere pro.exe. version 7.0.0.0 faulting module dvcontrol.prm, version 0.0.0.0. fault address 0x00002977.
What does the above codes indicate? How do I track done the problem?

I would appreciate your help Thank you,

Bill Anthony

What kind of video card and what version of driver for it do you have? it seem like Adobe Premiere Pro is very picking with older video driver and card.

Bill Anthony, I don't think youe SIS 640/730 chipset is going to cut for you ,, here is minimum system requirment for Premiere Pro:

Look at the Adobe Premiere Pro certified third-party capture cards you would need
