Question XP reinstall issue.

I recently got a (Hand-me-down) new computer. Here are the specs:

***********

Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (build 2600)

2.40 gigahertz Intel Celeron
8 kilobyte primary memory cache
128 kilobyte secondary memory cache
Maxtor 6L120P0 [Hard drive] (122.94 GB) -- drive 2
Maxtor 91010D6 [Hard drive] (10.11 GB) -- drive 0

VIA Technologies, Inc. P4X400-8235
Enclosure Type: Desktop
Board: P4X400-8235
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG 11/27/2002

1024 Megabytes Installed Memory

********

It came with the tiny little 10GB drive so I opted to upgrade. I used Norton Ghost to make a disk image of my old computer and I thought I put it on the large new Maxtor 6L120P0 Drive. So I took out the 10GB drive and when I started the comp. it hung up with a window that says "Windows XP" in a small graphic and never gets going on loading the system any further. Now, if the 10GB is back in and active in the bios it starts fine. It is as though the OS is running off both HDs and I cant figure it out. I don't want the 10GB in the picture at all anymore. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

After imaging the 10 Gig driver to the 122 gig driver....did you set the jumper on the bigger driver as Master ? Norton Ghost is very nice imaging software and I don't think it would cause any problem unless your hardware configuration is incorrect.

Cheers

I'll look into that...

Thanks for the reply. I did check the drive once for the correct configuration but I think it probably deserves a second look at this point.
