Exclamation Need Files On Old Hard Drive

My question is:

How can I view the files on my old hard drive on my new computer? I am using a VPR Matrix 60 GB harddrive with Windows XP installed on it. My old computer was a 4 GB with Windows XP also installed. I plugged in my old hard drive into my new computer and all it did was give me the MAC address, the GUID then the following:

PXE-E53: No bootfile received

PSE-M0E: Exiting Intel PXE ROM
Bootfailure: System Halted

Is there any way I can ever get back to the files on my old 4 gig? If so, someone PLEAAASE tell me how!! Thanks!!

-Jen

Well I didn't think I had to because I completely unplugged the new hard drive and plugged the old one in in its place. Though I did move the jumper cable around to every possible position and even took it completely off, but I still got the exact same results everytime.

Thanks,
Jen

Right, put your new drive as master, old as slave. That should enable access to it.
It's then simply a matter of copying old to new, or cd etc.

Instead of trying to chain your old hardrive onto your new why not put the jumper back were it was originally, yank the cdrom cable and power out and plug the old drive into IDE2. It doesn't matter if its a master, cable select or slave it'll detect. Copy your data off.

Ok thanks a lot everyone. I finally got onto the old hard drive. I couldn't find the files that I wanted, but I did get on. Thanks again
