Printers and Faxes Dialogue Box Freezes

A postscript printer driver along with Ghostscript & GSView were
installed onto an XP Pro computer to enable the creation of PDF files.

The Printers and Faxes box then started misbehaving and could be opened but froze when you attempted to close it. The postscript printer driver along Ghostscript & GSView were then removed from the computer but the problem still persists.

I have not looked at the computer yet as it is in a remote location
and want to get some ideas as to the best way of resolving the issue.
