word problem

I hope someone can help with this.
Since yesterday, every time I try to open micrsoft word 2000, It attempts a download. I do not know what it is trying to download but it fails and gives me the message about inserting the microsoft word 2000 disk.
I do not have this disk.
How can I get it to stop trying to download?

Would you happend to have the original CD that Microsoft word was installed from ? if so, the fastest way around it is to reinstall MS Office again...
