Xp Home and select operating system..?

Not sure if this has something to do with the Bios but at startup, before the windows screen. On a black screen it stops running and ask's me to : SELECT THE OPERATING SYSTEM TO START:
MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION
MICROSOFT WINDOWS
It's like it thinks I have two operating systems on one hard drive. If I chose MICROSOFT WINDOWS nothing happens but if I chose MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION it will start-up ok. I just installed this XP Home and its a full version. Any info would be great, thank you.

1000 meg DDR Ram
3.2 Intel P.4 CPU

This link, posted by another member of the forums, will help you remove the problem. Just make sure you're deleting the right line(s).

Thanks Jager-bomb, I could not get anywhere using the cmd and bootcfg/delete/ID# in my case the ID# is 2.... but....using edit I did get the boot time to 00 and WoW!!! is it fast now.....thanks again for the link! Maybe I might like XP someday.....maybe. (grin)
