hey everybody!!
i just wanted to say that style Xp is a memory hogger, about 3 megs. if you disable it in services, along with a bunch of other services that should be disabled, you would probably notice a big fat difference in your computer's performance.

this guy is a computer nerd/wiz/ETC. whatever you want to call him, hes really good, he tells your services that need disabling.
and if somebody could post a link to "elder geeks" or whatever the program was that you used to change the start menu name, that would be great!!
thank-you and im glad i could (probably) help!!

Make sure that you create a Restore Point before you begin. ResHacker might be your best tool for the job, but System Restore will be your best friend if you make a mistake.

i dont need to make a restore point, all i need to do is copy+paste explorer.exe file into another folder, so if something goes wrong, i'll take the copy of explorer.exe and put it back in its original position,
thanks for the advie though

Yes. System Restore monitors most system files with .exe, .vxd, .dll, .com, and .sys extensions. It does not monitor user-created files (for example, files that have .txt, .doc, or .xls extensions), the My Documents folder, Temporary Internet files (including the Internet Explorer History, Cookies, or Favorites files), the Recycle Bin, or the Windows Swap (.swp) file.

The eldergeek thing destroyed my computer, now it just hangs after the Loading Personal Profile thing, meh, I had to reinstall XP on another hard disk. Well, like he said, maybe I did it wrong...

virtualguyex doesn't need to set a System Restore point before beginning, but everyone else should.
