programme loads on startup

hi i have windows xp (not sure what version)
it came with the computer already installed
whenver i bootup the computer, mircosoft messenger (msn) comes up

does anyone know how i can swith it off so it doesnt come up at the start

To disable MSN Messenger:

1. Double click on the little icon in the system tray.
2. When the program comes up, go to Tool/Options
3. Click on the Preferences tab
4. Uncheck the "Run this program when Windows starts"
5.. Click OK

At the next reboot this program will not automatically run.
