Win XP & WinDVD2000 sound issues
Having a small problem,
I have Win XP SP1 (had the same problem before SP1) an SB Live! Value (using the latest Windows XP update drivers - as well as having tried all driver versions before), and WinDVD 2000.
The problem I have is that when I play a DVD the speech channel of the DVD (not the music, or the effects, just the speech) is "crackly" and "scratchy".
I did not get this problem with exactly the same setup under Win2000, just getting it with WinXP. i've tried everything you can possibly imagine - re-installs - different driver combinations - unregistering filters etc etc , and nothing seems to fix it. It ONLY happens with the speech audio channel though, not with any other sound - its perfect untill someone speaks, the it goes all crackly, with various popping noises etc.
I've not managed to see if this is the same with other DVD software as WinDVD2000 is the only DVD software I have to hand.
Any help or suggestions would be most appreciative.
