Icon Text Labels Wrong

I am using Windows XP Pro on a 2500+ AMD Barton core with 512MB of Mushkin PC3500 DDR.

I am unsure when this problem first occured but here it is...

All of my icons on the desktop, taskbar and quicklaunch are labeled wrong. They all launch correctly and their respective properties are correct. I am also using PowerToys XP and the icon repair function did not do anything to repair this.

Yes, all Microsoft updates are installed.

can you give a example of what you mean by wrong? and when did this start, what did you install that caused the change?

I have heard of Spyware that does this Try running Ad-Aware or Spybot Search & Destroy.

I use Spybot regulary, I rarly have any to remove. I am unsure of what I may have installed that could be causing this problem.

In the image following my mouse pointer is over the Internet Explorer icon in the quicklaunch panel. The text displayed is CladDVD.net along with the black box around the text. This happens with every icon on the desktop, quicklaunch and taskbar. The text alway displays another icons text.
