Question Toolbar Question

Hey all,

I have my tool bar set to hide inactive icons, however it doesn't. It also doesn't always show the icons I have chosen to always show. This has been going on for a while now. I have reset it, re-booted, all I can think of, nothing will get it working right again.

Anyone know why this would be happening? Up until about a week and a half ago it worked fine. I know this isn't major, but a bit annoying.

If anyone can be of help, I appreciate it.

WinXP Home
HP P4 1.60 GHz

McAfee Internet Security

This might do it-
this will reset-clean out the Hide inactive icons list.
Maybe a cleanup will help your issue.
This is 100% safe- ive done it on many occasions.

To clean HideInactiveIcons List
(which grows)Go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\TrayNotify
The right page says
IconsStreams REG_BINARY 14 00 00.......etc....
PastIconStream REG_BINARY 14 00 00.......etc....

Delete both lines (IconStreams and PastItems)(right clik to delete)
Close regedit

Open TaskManager (press Ctrl-Alt-Del)
Processes
mark Explorer.exe
End Process
Yes
File - New Task
Type: explorer.exe
Ok
Enjoy.
