this is a broad spectrum trojan remover.
http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/
and if it dont detect anything try a online scan like trend, panda or rav.
http://www.pandasoftware.com/actives..._principal.htm

one thing to note, if you keep getting a pop up from avg saying you have the virus, but when you scan it says none found, goto start, all programs, accessories, system tools, system restore. create a new system restore point, now go back to the same place you did the system restore and select disk clean up. once the options box is up after clicking ok to run it select more options at the top, then click clean up system restore.

just delete whats in there. sometimes if you are using the heuristics it will remove something you need, but if you have not set this it should be safe to delete the vaults contents.

it is a feature of some anti virus programs that detect possible or unknown viruses. if it has all the signs of a virus, it will warn you it could be one that has not been identified, but very well could be.

i keep the option on, but be careful and watch what it wants to remove. do not delete the ones that are possible until you check out everything you use to make sure it's cool to delete. 99% of the time it is right, but the 1% can bite you in the @$$ sometimes.

AVG Free AV is up to version 7.5.503. You must update.

Rescan with the updated program and let us know if it continues to ID that original Trojan (or, indeed, any other malware).

If it does ... please post the AVG scan report here PLUS a HijackThis log. We need to see what's going on.

Not again.

Yes, I have been known to do this before.

I got a message in my inbox that this thread was newly "updated" so I went to have a look not thinking about the dates.

More haste, less speed, I guess, but why did I get that email anyway?

Thanks for the heads up, snooker.

No problem OJ . What probably happen was someone posted on this and then deleted right afterward , this would sometimes alert your email account .
