Dropping and dragging

OK, I have a simple problem that my computer manufacturer can't figure out! I just simply need to know, how to change the setting for dropping and dragging. When I drop and drag, the file simply copies itself and I then have two of that file. I just want the file to go where I take it, not to copy. How do I change this setting?

Just high light the file and then keep your right mouse button down and drag it any where you want to, that will ask you if you want to "Move It" and "Copy It".

cheers

Oh, that was slick. I had a program installer on my desktop for over a week, that would not move.

re: drag and drop??!!

OK, that will work as well, but when you left click it, not right click, you can grab and move without the added hassle. I know this may sound petty, but Dell told me to fix this simple problem I had to do a system restore or reinstall XP. I know there is a simple setting that will change this from happening.
