Webcam causes reboot

Please help!

Having recently purchased a (cheap) webcam - Sipix Blink II - I installed the drivers etc. on my p.c. running windows x.p. However approximately 50% of the time the computer attempts to connect to the webcam (e.g. on starting a net conference on msn messenger) the screen turns black and the system reboots. I can see no reason why this occurs at times and not at others. This is very frustrating and I would be overjoyed if someone could offer any suggestions or answers.

as you said, it was a cheap camara... perhaps That MFG did not spend enough time to develop a bug free driver for it !! Have you tried to look for the latest camera driver on their manufacturing site ?

Yeah I looked into the driver but It seems the driver I have is the latest. Its odd that I havent found anyone else encountering the same problem.
