Troubleshooting Poor Sound quality in Windows Media Player
Older versions of Windows Media Player have a bug that causes sound to distort when the equaliser is set to anything but the default, and you decide to repeat playback for the file. The only way to prevent this is to disable the equaliser in the Now Playing Options under the View menu, click Graphic Equalizer and then click the “On” option to switch the equaliser off.
