Firefox takes long time between pages or is slow when using multiple tabs

Comments: There is a preference in about:config that can fix this, depending on how much RAM you have.

Solution: Firefox 1.5 has a new fast back/forward feature that vast
ly reduces the amount of time taken to display pages when the back/forward buttons are used. This does add to memory usage, though. Set “browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers” to the appropriate setting. When set to -1, it stores 1 page in memory:
set 1 page if your RAM is 64 MB; 2 if it’s 128 MB; 5 if it’s 512 MB, and so on. When set to 0, Firefox does not store any pages in memory. When set it to any positive integer, it stores those many pages in memory.
