Comments: This behaviour may occur after you upgrade to Windows XP.
Cause: This may occur if the network card in your computer is not enabled.
Solution: To resolve this issue, enable the network card, and then run the Network Setup Wizard: in the Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager. In Device Manager, click Network adapters. On the Action menu, click Enable. Quit Device Manager. Now, in the Control Panel, click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections. In Network Connections, click Network Setup Wizard under Network Tasks, and then follow the on-screen steps. Finally, restart your computer.
