Cause: Various things can cause a gaming device to act erratically. These include problems with DirectX, calibration entries in the Windows Registry, and game issues.
Solution: Make sure you are running the latest version of DirectX. If you are unsure about what version of DirectX you are using, at a command prompt, type in “dxdiag” and press [Enter]. The box that comes up will tell you about what version of DirectX you have installed on your system. Check the Microsoft Web site (www.microsoft.com/directx) for the latest version.
You may also want to uninstall and reinstall the joystick software. In some cases, if the calibration issue is within a game, you could try uninstalling and reinstalling the game.
