USB DVD-Writer fails to write at its maximum rated speed

Problem: Your USB DVD-Writer fails to write at its maximum rated speed, even when you use media certified for the maximum rated speed of the writer.

Cause: The USB DVD-Writer is USB 2.0 compliant while the port is an older version.

Solution: Check if the motherboard supports USB 2.0. If not, the speed bottleneck may be the cause of your problem. If your motherboard supports USB 2.0, then check if it is enabled, and set it to USB 2.0 mode in the BIOS.
