Make Those SmartIcons work
If you ever find yourself in a situation where you are clicking on the one of the first six icons of the Internet Tools palette and nothing happens, open a file in freelance and try again. The icons will not work as excepted.

Color Mapping in Shads of Gray
It is almost impossible to match the actual output colors to those displays on screen. the problem is more acute in case of black-and-white graphics. To know what to except, a file called 240color.prz is provided to compare displayed colors with the output. Take a printout of this file and compare it with the displayed original. To convert this file to grayscale click once on the Color/BW icon and print the file.

Crosshair Quick Change
If you want to change the size of the crosshair cursor, click on View > Set View Preferences. Alternatively, you can press Shift+F4 on the keyboard.

Drop the Splash Screen
To eliminate the irritating Splash Screen which is displayed at the beginning of Freelance, right click on the shortcut that opens Freelance Graphics. at the end of the Target line, add a space along with "-n" (without double quoted).

Use the SmartMaster Look
To impart a consistent appearance to all the pages in a presentation, use a SmartMaster Look. The look takes care of design elements such as fonts and colors, but does not change the content or layout. You can change the look at anytime, but the content information will remain unchanged.

Draw a Straight Line
It is very simple to draw a straight line using the tools provided. Select the lien tool and press Shift key while you are drawing. All Vertical, Horizontal and 45 degree lines will be drawn straight and will eliminate errors caused by the user.
