Sure! if you got a disk when you purchased your computer. The operating system is on some backup disk so I cna magically reset the system to factory settings. I reinstalled SP2 with no luck, now how about reinstalling Outlook 6 with out a disk.

Wow, what a great and simple solution! I have been looking everywhere for this info and it is so much easier than the stuff listed on Microsoft's site. Seems to have worked perfectly.

This solution finally solved my Outlook Express problem that even my Internet Service Provider was not able to solve. I had to uninstall my anti-virus software. And reinstall my anti-virus software to use its functions. But my Outlook Express problem is finally solved. Thanks!

Doesn't help repairing the error I'm having, which is the "Account Options" is missing despite having change the Registry value from 1 to 0 to allow change to Account Settings.

If your repair "disk" is part of your hard drive do a manual search for each file that windows asks for. Start-> Search. Make sure to click the Advanced button and check the hidden files/folders box. That should make it work.

I cannot use the delete key or cut and paste in OE. After reinstalling as described I have the same problem. I conclude that this does not actually reinstall OE at all.

If this worked, I would have given it a 5. Don't know if it worked. It seemed to work, and then I was expecting to open OE and see a new slate and have to import all my info into a fresh system. Instead, it just looked as always. Did this on my laptop as a trial run. My desktop system (same OS) is the system that needs to be reloaded. Is there anyway to get the author on this? The other fix on the web stated a regedit fix and changing the key to from 1 to 0 to fool the system into thinking OE wasn't on the system. I'm pretty sure this way would work, but it is longer than the fix stated above. Should the fix above be done if OE isn't on the system. Guess OE would be on the system since we can't seem to get rid of it. Any help would be appreciated.
