1.Click on "Start", then "Run.." and type "regedit". 2.Navigate to the registry key: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop". 3.Once there, locate the DWORD value "PaintDesktopVersion". 4.Right click on it and select Modify. -Value equal to "0" removes Windows version from desktop. -Value equal to "1" adds Windows version to desktop. 5.Reboot your computer.

This is how to remove it. The best way.
Rightclick on an empty space on your desktop -> Properties -> Desktop Settings -> webb then choose to lock all objects on desktop and the text to the right will disappear.
