For all those without a windows button: You can right-click on the "desktop" icon (next to the start menu) and choose "send to >" "desktop (as shortcut)". Right-click on the shotcut that has just been created and choose "properties". In the "shortcut key" click on it and press the letter that you want to use to minimize all windows (you may think you can't change "none" but you can; just click in text box and insert a letter). Try it and it will work! Cheers!

Sounded great, thanks for the attempt, but doesn't work for me with XP. It won't even drag and drop to the taskbar. Tried putting it on Start Menu but clicking on it there didn't work either.

this is not relevant. if the title is "Show desktop without keyboard shortcut" it should do it without the key board short cut.

"Show desktop without keyboard shortcut. Just press the windows key + D and it will hide all windows to show the desktop." (???) That IS a keyboard shortcut. Not that I'm complaining, coz it works, so maybe I am complaining~ whatever. What I'm trying to say is that: THAT SO IS A KEYBOARD SHORTCUT! P.s. Haters- kiss my ass. :)

If the Show Desktop icon is deleted from Quick Launch, the procedure below will recreate the file. Open Notepad and enter the following text: [Shell] Command=2 IconFile=explorer.exe,3 [Taskbar] Command=ToggleDesktop Save the new file as Show Desktop.scf then drag and drop the icon on the Quick Launch bar or whatever location you want the shortcut to appear. Hope it would help
