Fast User Switching with Internet Connection

This tweak fixes the issue. This enables a permanent internet connection with multiple users on your PC under Windows XP.

Click Start --> Run and type regedit

Navigate to this key :


HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion/Winlogon

Then right-click the right-hand pane, select New/String Value.

Name the value KeepRasConnections

Double click the new key and set it to 1.

    Losing my dial-up connection everytime I switch users has been driving me crazy. This tweak solves the problem by keeping the connection intact. Great tweak!!!

    YAY!!! Been looking for a solution to this one for weeks. Many many thanks to the person who found this one. Tried new routers, switches, hubs, network cards and a full format c: and re-instal!!!!!

    Already set to 1 and the (wireless)connection is taken down during switching to a user who is not admin.
