Remove Login Password

Remove Login Password

Follow this step to remove it.

1. Go to Control panel
2. Click administrative tools
3. Local Security Settings
4. Click Minimum password length
5. Reduce it to 0, No password required
6. Go to user account in control panel click your account and remove password.

This will disable the password feature. Have fun.

    Could not find Local Security Settings in Admin tools. XP sp2, IE 6. Help would not find any info on minimum password length. What now? Phil

    Worked just fine on my XP. Control Panel > Admin tools > Local Security policy > Security Settings >Acct Policies > Password policies , then the above makes sense

    nearly 100% perfect. I found it under (like Comment #4): Security Settings | Account Policies | Password Policy & it worked just fine.

    This is not the answer. You don't need to go to change anything in administrative tools.

    Disabling startup login prompt for password 1. Click Start and Run 2. Type "Control Userpasswords2" and press enter. 3. Uncheck the box for "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer." 4. Click Apply and Ok.

    There"s only one thing wrong, the conmuter has a password on start up, you cannot use F2 to get into the Cmos or F12 to get into the drive setup. Just turn the machine on and the password is there, any advice on this.??? Fred H. Gravett computerf@aol.com
