Windows XP Service Pack 2 on CD FREE
Microsoft has been pushing Windows XP Service Pack 2 via Windows Update ever since it was released back in August. However, unbeknownst to most folks, SP2 is also available on CD for free. All you have to do is fill out the order form on the Windows XP site, and Microsoft will send you the CD for free. Not only is the CD free, but there's no shipping charge either.
While the information on the order page states that it may take approximately 4-6 weeks for shipping, many people are reporting that they received their CDs within a couple of weeks.
And, best of all, installing SP2 from the CD is a snap. You just insert the CD, wait for Autostart to kick in, and then just follow the onscreen instructions. Another benefit is that you can install SP2 easily on multiple PCs without having to download it via Windows Update on each PC.

This is better than Ice Cream I need this Cd to restore my pc back to original settings i spent 3 days downloading it before and Now I dont need to download it again.

hello sir/mam i facing a problem in XP.That is when i am doing internet (some pages opened)..unfortunately i done the hibernate.when i was done the hibernation,system turn off.again i reset the system it is asking a password.so what is the password....I think it is a bug in Xp....
but i knew a some information about on sp2 that is any password is not asking...;.....

Unfortunately the site listed above http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cdorder/en_us/default.mspx, does not provide any link or form with which one could order WinXP SP2 CD. So are there any other suggestions on where one might get the CD?

because we are using limited services of Windows XP here in Pakistan, that is the reason why i rated windows service pack 2 excellent because it gives us lot of facilities to run our windows properly.
