Phenom is a multi core processor.

Phenom X3 = 3 Cores
Phenom X4 = 4 Cores

Phenom is similar to Intel Core 2 Quad range of processors.

Athlon is similar to Intel Core 2 Duo range of processors.

    how about practical performance comparison Athlon to Intel Core 2 Duo & Phenom to Intel Core 2 Quad processors
